Holy Family High School Workshop

Michael Linert will serve as a guest clinician with the orchestra and guitar musicians from Holy Family High School in Colorado. During this special residency, students will refine their playing techniques and enhance their performance of selected repertoire. They will also explore the Mexican folk song Cielito Lindo through Lumiroar’s Multi-Level Masterpiece arrangement, celebrating collaboration, creativity, and the joy of making music to enhance our community.

Mariachi Workshop and Celebration with the Aspen Music Festival and School

Learn from and perform alongside professional mariachi in this three-day workshop for students (grades 5-12) and beyond! An additional Mariachi Development training for music educators, high school juniors/seniors, university/college, administrators, and adult participants will be offered on Sunday, June 2. The program includes:

  • Active full-group rehearsals and technique-building sessions on traditional mariachi instruments (vihuela, guitarrón, violin, guitar, trumpet, and voice) and non-mariachi instruments alike...Whatever instrument you play, you CAN participate!

  • Instructional breakouts with musical mentors from across Colorado

  • Keynote presentations on the tradition and historical evolution of mariachi folk music

  • Inter-generational learning opportunities

  • A featured performance in the Klein Music Tent as part of the AMFS's Mariachi Celebration on July 2

  • Mariachi Development training for music educators, high school juniors/seniors, university/college, administrators, and adult participants on Sunday, June 29

  • Fun, friendship, community building and more!
