Mariachi Workshop and Celebration with the Aspen Music Festival and School
Learn from and perform alongside professional mariachi in this three-day workshop for students (grades 5-12) and beyond! An additional Mariachi Development training for music educators, high school juniors/seniors, university/college, administrators, and adult participants will be offered on Sunday, July 29. The program includes:
Active full-group rehearsals and technique-building sessions on traditional mariachi instruments (vihuela, guitarrón, violin, guitar, trumpet, and voice) and non-mariachi instruments alike...Whatever instrument you play, you CAN participate!
Instructional breakouts with musical mentors from across Colorado
Keynote presentations on the tradition and historical evolution of mariachi folk music
Intergenerational learning opportunities
A featured performance in the Klein Music Tent as part of the AMFS's Mariachi Celebration on July 2

Colorado ASTA Certificate Advancement Program & Boulder East County Solo and Ensemble Festival
Students from elementary through high school will showcase their talents, receive personalized mini-lessons from Michael Linert, and earn leveled certificates based on comprehensive performance criteria. This enriching event combines the excitement of performance with valuable educational feedback, helping students advance their musical journey. Click below for more info!
Jeffco High School Select Orchestra
Michael Linert will collaborate with 100 talented musicians from 20 Jeffco Public Schools in Colorado as guest clinician for the inaugural Jeffco High School Select Orchestra. During this special collaboration, students will rehearse and perform four musical works, explore the fundamentals of mariachi music, and develop valuable leadership skills while strengthening community bonds.
