Strategies for Multi-Level Masterpieces!
How do I keep organized for performance when using a MLM between multiple classes?
I like to quickly write or type a page like this (downloads an editable Word Doc) and place it in my music binder as the first page before the score.
Some of the ranges of the “Voice - Melody” are tricky for some of my students.
To keep the contour of the melody intact, it is true that the range may not be comfortable/appropriate range for all singers. The overall tessitura of the line was written to prevent copious usage of ledger lines, not necessarily the exact octave in which to sing.
In many cases, I tend to have students figure out which part best fits their voice, and sometimes they switch between various phrases. This aspect is wonderful for the students to learning about composition/arranging through personal reflection and discussion with peers.
I may add bass clef versions in the future, but for now, only treble-clef versions are included.
